PLX Technology is PLeaXed with its I/O (input/output) accelerators and processors, a new class of integrated circuits (ICs) used to interconnect the host microprocessor, memory, and peripheral chips in embedded circuits found in electronic devices. PLX's ICs are used to interconnect chips made by industry leaders such as Intel, Motorola, and Texas Instruments. Manufacturers that use PLX's ICs in their electronic products -- everything from medical instruments to video and graphic equipment -- include IBM (13% of sales), Cisco, Compaq, Lucent, and Siemens. PLX is "fabless," outsourcing its manufacturing to companies in Asia.
