IDX SYSTEMS CORP. (IDXC) 15 5/16 -10 11/16. One stock that is not participating in today's broad market rally is this provider of healthcare information solutions as the company warned about a significant earnings miss for Q1. According to the company, it expects to record a Q1 loss of $0.22 to $0.28 a share on revenues of $60 to $65 million as customers are deferring purchasing decisions. This is significantly below the First Call mean estimate of $0.35 a share, and year-ago profit of $0.28 a share on revenues of $72.7 million. In fact, revenues at the top end of the range provided by IDXC would only be marginally higher than the level posted in the Q3 of 1997 and would represent approximately a 25% decrease from the preceding quarter. Similarly, it would be more than 30% below Q498 is revenues come in at the low end of the estimate range. And while the company expects the loss to be temporary and for the company to return to profitability in the following quarter, investors are not taking the news too kindly, as the stock has been on a slippery slope for the past several months after peaking over $55 last summer. With limited visibility about what the rest of the year might look like, despite the positive comments made by management that fundamentals remain sound, investors are likely to stay on the sidelines, despite the issue being excessively oversold.
