Varian Medical, a spin-off from Varian Associates, is one of the world's major suppliers of equipment for treating cancer with high-energy radiation. Products also include X-ray tubes and imaging subsystems. They are the market leader in Radiation Oncology equipment, but are starting to see some competition from newly revived Seimens Oncology division. Barron's has suggested an intial stock price of $20 on roughly one times revenues and 15 times earnings.
