Claimsnet.com is putting an end to writer's cramp for insurance claims filers with its online claims filing system. Medical and dental health care providers that subscribe to Claimsnet.com's service can log on to a Web site, fill out and edit insurance claims forms, and submit them to Claimsnet.com, which then processes and transmits the forms in the specified format to such payors as Aetna, Metropolitan Life Insurance, CIGNA, UnitedHealth Group, and Prudential. Claimsnet.com sells health care providers monthly subscriptions to its service; it also charges transaction fees to payors and clearinghouses. After the planned IPO, chairman and CEO Bo Lycke will reduce his stake in the company from about 43% to 26%.
