My dear friends, in troubled times like these, times that calmly and quietly speak out softly for some calm and soothing posts, we all need a safe harbor of respite.

Well, maybe not all of us, but some of us.

A place with no personal animosity and cat howling, no broken mufflers, no Emergency Vehicles, no multi level angst amongst our fellow Internet junkies, no...

...no Eddie Van Halen solos, no loud and nasty 80s head banger music or rap turned up loud enough to make your ears bleed, no...

...we need Perry Como. Yes, that's right. Yes. We need Barry Manilow. Yes. Yes, Barry Manilow. We need that 'Sign Off' thing we sometimes see on the television at 3:00 a.m. with the Calm and Soothing Thought For the Day.

No WWF Bludgeon At The Beach, no...no Scariest Police Chases XIII, no, no, no screaming people, no barking dogs, no jets, no boats, no cars, no, no...

...no tequila slammers, no triple bourbons with a chaser of Colt 45, no, no...

...no, we need a nice glass of warm milk, and a Lorna Doone.

Barry Manilow calmly and soothingly singing "Mandy", turned down, and a nice glass of warm milk and maybe three Lorna Doones.

There...that's better, isn't it?

Yes. Yes, it is.

We all have been put to sleep by a calm and soothing post about American Processed Cheese Spread, or feelings about different kinds of socks, or what might be prepared for some meal next week, or the Golf Channel.

This is where we can post these soothing thoughts and ideas.

I would start off right here with a post, but I've been sitting down all day, and I need to lie down now.
