Forest Laboratories, Inc. and its subsidiaries develop, manufacture and sell both branded and generic forms of ethical drug products, which require a physician's prescription, as well as non-prescription pharmaceutical products. Forest's most important United States products consist of branded ethical drug specialties marketed directly to physicians by the Company's Forest Pharmaceuticals, Forest Therapeutics and Forest Specialty Sales salesforces, and its controlled release line of generic products sold to wholesalers, chain drug stores and generic distributors. The Company's principal products include Celexa, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor for the treatment of depression; the respiratory products Aerobid, Aerochamber and Tessalon; Tiazac, a treatment for hypertension and angina; the Climara estrodiol transdermal system; Monurol, a treatment for uncomplicated urinary tract infection and Cervidil, used for the initiation or continuation of cervical ripening.
