TRI-VISION SIGNS EXCLUSIVE DEAL TO MAKE FIRST V-CHIP PRODUCT. Globe & Mail & The Financial Post May 16/96 Tri-Vision Electronics Inc. (ASE:TVL) will roll out it cable TV V-CHIP in September and expects big sales from cable companies and especially television manufactureres. Prof. Collins the inventor of the chip and a small Canadian maker of television remote controls have signed an EXCLUSIVE AGREEMENT TO MAKE THE FIRST PRODUCT INCORPORATING THE V-CHIP. Tri-Vision president Najmul Siddiqui said he has ordered initail production of 250,000 of the unit of the Canadian market. Prof. collings said he expects the units to sell for $50 to $60, or to be leased to consumers by cable T.V companies for less than $2.00 a month.
