To be used for Alien Technology Corporation, a private company, anticipating a future IPO. Alien was founded in 1995 as Beckman Displays to commercialize a process called Fluidic Self-Assembly(FSA), developed at Cal-Berkeley. The original target was low cost displays, the company was subsequently re-focused to the RFID market. Alien is a focal point of this developing market due to their ability to produce high volume, low cost tags with FSA.
