Was looking for Kobe comments on here and wasn't able to find any. I figured that I might as well start a subject since it will probably become a popular subject of discussion over the coming months.
Kobe's press conference today was brilliant. First, there was an immediate response to the DA's criminal filing, stopping or at least slowing a pro-prosecution media spin. Second, Kobe hired a female attorney, which has to soften his image and which is important for a trial like this. Third, he has his wife by his side, portraying himself as a family man who simply made a mistake.
Going forward, I think that we can forget Scott Peterson and we can forget Martha. This trial will surely be the most talked about trial since OJ Simpson.
I'm not sure whether Kobe raped this chick or not, but I have a message for future superstars who want to bang random chicks: Videotape the act, as it will protect you from false allegations. The superstar would probably want to tape the act anyway for ego purposes. And groupies wouldn't mind the taping since they'd do anything to get a piece of a superstar. The videotape only becomes a problem if you're married and don't want the adultery exposed. Perhaps make the videotape so that the chick will be aware that she will not be able to make subsequently false allegations and then destroy the tape immediately after the chick leaves the bedroom.
It will be interesting to see what evidence the DA has to support the rape charge. I'm sure that tons of information will be leaked over the coming weeks.
