An SI Board Since April 2008

This is a board for me to basically talk to myself out loud. With it I'll be able to, time permitting, satisfy my love of writing and give myself an opportunity to see/learn how I'd like a bloggish subset of the site to work.

It'll mostly be anecdotes and the subject matter will vary. I might discuss a stock I like or dislike, there will definitely be a lot of talking about cars and motorcycles and the like, stuff I'm doing to my place, etc.

If you want to opine about a post, feel free, but if you want to write to tell a story (especially the longer type that I personally like writing and reading) and it's not about a similar experience, I encourage you to start up a similar board yourself. This will also give me an alternative to loading up the Welcome to SI board with a bunch of nonsense totally unrelated to the site.

I've led an interesting (to me) life with chapters of it encompassing an extremely broad spectrum of experiences, and that's one of the reasons for me starting this board. Get some of this written down and not just keep it in my noggin, which seems to have every decreasing capacity as I get older (just turned 49 last month). Another motivator is that we were sitting around yesterday talking about first jobs and minimum wage, and I mentioned that my first job was $1 per hour to dig up and plant trees at a tree farm. My wife said that though she knows I've had many different jobs and even careers, this was a brand new one to her.

Already getting wordy in the Intro, so I'll cut it off here and try to think of a first post.
