Basic science hasn't changed much really since Archimedies. A cursory glance at the most vital activity producing the bloodflow for modern society -drilling for oil- reveals simple levers, screws, displacement and torque at the root of most fundemental oilfield mechanichal operations. Steam may be the next big thing. Thanks Archimedies! Recent advances in horizontal drilling will probably reverse the course of the economic, mercantile balance of power shift which has been snowballing for the last fifty years (probably more) and usher in an unprecedented era of growth and prosperity for most of humanity. Or not. The political ramifications of simple recovery technologies and the correlative effect of these basic liberating business innovations are fair game. Discussion of specific topics related to investment opportunity or technical price action are encouraged. Communists will be tolerated as tools for contrast but probably mocked and eventually banned. | ||||||||||||||
