Anyone out there in cyberland listen to Jerry Winger's radio talk show, The Next Superstock, or subscribe to his newsletter ?? He is expanding his shows across the nation quite rapidly in the last year or so (also now on Blumberg Radio). I listen to him in New York on WEVD 1050 AM dial Mon-Fri evening from 6:00 - 6:30pm. He often gets the CEO or another Director on the air, so you can get a sense of the company directly from the horse's mouth.
Sometimes Jerry's "picks" are good, other times they are not good at all. He does promos for companies for pay, but he seems to do his homework on them before he accepts them as clients by visiting them (on his own nickel) beforehand. He is always open about who's paying him at the moment, and who's not. He'll tell you if he owns stock and how he acquired it, often at what price and how much stock he owns. He IS a promoter, but he's definitely not cast from the same mold as most of them.
I've made good $$$ on some of his recommendations (e.g. HearX, EAR-Amex), but most of them I just ignore because they don't feel right for whatever reason - usually it was something the company management said on the air or the products they have. By listening to them, you can form a good impression of which managers are promoter types and which ones have something real to offer the world.
A thread to discuss Jerrys companies would be helpful to those who listen to his talk shows. How about it - any takers ???
