Tako Resources has acquired three properties in Indonesia that they are presently planning extensive drill exploration programs for because of the high abundance of gold found in assayed samples and visible gold apparent on the properties. The first of the three properties is on the island of Kalimantan, in East Kalimantan approximately 80 miles from the Bre-X discovery. The area of high gold potential in Kalimantan coincides with the position of a middle tertiary volcanic arc. The arc is defined by a belt of intermediate to felsic volcanic centers and subvolcanic diorite rocks and plugs of similar age. The tertiary volcanics are mostly located within the middle tertiary foreland sedimentary basins, but tertiary subvolcanic plugs also cut the margin of the Cretaceous continental arc to the south. The arc and corresponding gold belt has been tentatively projected westward. The Central Kalimantan gold belt contains about 10% of lndonesia's known gold reserves. | ||||||||||||||
