Comments on TAVA

From: Rick Cowles <rcowles@waterw.com>
Subject: Response to TAVA Technologies Inc or "Torpo"
Date: 1998-02-04 16:47:51
I spent some time reviewing the TAVA product at their Westchester PA offices, and it's certainly a piece of the puzzle. Of most interest is their embedded controls methodology, and data repository. I don't believe that they have "testing software" per se (i.e. something that you could non-intrusively hook up to a PLC and test the PLC throughput), but I could be wrong about that...

This has been discussed some time ago by CK. This document is a good and detailed description of plant-floor - MIS integration; the business that TAVA will be in increasingly after 2000 (leveraging their accumulated detailed know-how of lots of plant floors).

Contingency Planning and Speed to Market

'So all effort to spent on getting on with remediating the most critical systems first; is putting your company in greated danger than necessary. This notion will increasingly blow away ideas of doing anything that is not absolulely necessary. So when buying a solution from outside will speed the proces up; co's will do just that.'
