>>he lacks knowledge of retailing in a big way.<<

How do you draw this conclusion? Though you may have a point that prior to Amazon, Jeff had never been in retail business.

Glenn, I detect anger in your tone...

For the first time in a long time I sleep tonight with a long AMZN position. Have had some successful day trades over the last 3 days, however I ventured back in this afternoon, unfortunately a tad early. It's amazing how one's perspective changes depending on where his heart lies. I for one hope the thing rallies over the next few weeks.

I found him to be consistent with his guidance, yet easily allowing one to read between the lines on his direction. The thing that turned me around was the overwhelming positive experience of EVERY one I talked to on doing business with him. That coupled with his curious appearance today on a live interview makes me wonder if he's got something up his sleeve. I would rather be long AMZN and short EBAY because I believe that they will catch them.

P.S.If it breaks 108, I'm out of here.

Glenn the interview started out with a band --huge award then praise
on the 10 mil customer.
Pushed auction site as a great experience --
Explained he is providing a long term investment by spending REVs to build a "Walmart " of the web.
It would be a con job if he did predicted great earnings but I believe he explained his vision very well. Also knowledge is only relative to a known present situation with very little to do with long term future .

Did he mention their foray into toys? Or is that untouchable until the launch?

Just like William Paley didn't have any experience in broadcasting!
