When the tide finally turns those with the mindset of
marc ultra will be few and far between. Complacency
will reign supreme as investors tally up their
certain future gains in their never ending plans to
invest for "early retirement" in the one can't lose
proposition in the world for them, stock market
"investing." Posters will appear warning of the lost
profit opportunities of being out of the market.
As history stated long ago, "beware of false profits."

Update on test of the highs

Dow 0.8% below July 16th high
S&P 5.3% below July 16th high
NAZ 6.7% below July 16th high

Keep in mind as to market action for calling a change Bob said to focus on the Dow now

Decided to bid ADIEU to Europe today to raise a bit more cash. Only remaining Int'l exposure is the high performing Global Communications fund which I think I will hedge should there be a sell signal

marc U: RE: < "Divergence" >

While your post 7812 was very informative and interesting, it did not address the general question posed in my post 7800 which was my effort to understand more about "divergence":

"Do you or does anyone here know what period of time (ie. two hours and 45 Minutes, one day, one week, one month ...) the S&P500 would have to confirm any such marginal DOW new high to not be considered "divergance" ? ?

Perhaps non-confirmation ("divergence") is considered to have occurred when the market's short term trend reverses after the DOW makes new marginal highs without confirmation by the S&P500 and there's no set time passage required for "divergence" to occur.
