Thanks for your input.

It has disappointed me how NOVL management seems to keep their employees on a short leash on this issue when this would be the LOWEST COST form of marketing & promotion of Novell technologies, solution, and competitive advantages in the industry.

Your thoughts are exactly my thoughts in respect that instead of gagging their most knowledgeable and positively biased forms of world-wide advertising, NOVL management should develop an internal policy and associated education that would strongly encourage NOVL staff to publicly participate and promote NOVL.

Think about it NOVL Executives: NOVL Staff are a wealth of valueable NOVL information that could very likely influence the industry on a medium (the Internet) that is flooded by your customers eyeballs! If thats not a "No-Brainer", I dont know what is.

Educate your staff on knowing the limits and bounds by which they should abide by when communicating, and then let them go out and preach, influence, educate, stimulate, excite, promote. I know that most other companies encourage that, even the very conservative IBM. IBM employees know their rules, but beyond that, they are not restricted from promoting their company and its products. Why would they?

What an untapped form of free advertising being missed. What a waste.

Well, I guess thats what we are are for. Too bad they don't pay us - LOL! Don't know if I could ever become a NOVL employee if ever asked - I would hate to give up my freedom to promote a company who's technology I truely respect. Isnt that ironic Scott now that you think about it.

I was copied on numerous mails which indicated a specific policy being developed, however I was not privy to the results of that effort

Now thats a great policy Scott, one that no one is privy to the results. LOL. "OK people - here is our new policy on NOVL staff communicating on public forums - have you all read it inside these 4 walls? - now eat the paper its written on and dont tell your staff" HEHEHEHE - sorry - felt a little light-hearted there for a moment.

Scott, Toy, thank you both for the diligent exchange of thoughts and experience. I just cant stand not sharing my my GUT feelings, because I lack any technical knowledge, But, much of Novells problem is now coming into focus for me, thoughts at random ......Eric S. did not come in with sufficient team from Sun to make an instant impact on the deadwood at NOVL......Utah is the center of Mormon culture, there is a SPILL OVER into the work place.......George Romney of Michigan politics and American Motor fame was a Mormon !!!!!!one does not live & work in Utah for just the technical thrill. Somehow or other Novl. has managed through a variety of adventures and products and leadership and now by evidence of recent discussions to remain as plain vanilla as the desert sands of a company....no matter what is tries to launch.....again Wall Street knows this and those that prepare opinion articles know this and now as a stockholder of several hopeless years having been sucked into the technical euphoria of Novl. I also realize that there isnt much hope for any rapid rise in stock value !!!!!! To late to sell, to early to cry and not much hope in between..... Regards, Waldy

Hello all,

I haven't heard from Paul in a while ... but I know there are others that might have an opinion here ...

I'm looking at NOVL covered calls ...

I'm curious what people think look better ... Jan 25s or Feb 25s ... and why? I'm trying to learn more about this ...

(P.S. I'm going on a road trip for a week ... I'll be in and out of Internet connectivity ... but will try to check back. If I have the chance I'm going to respond to Toy's Microsoft post before this one ... of course. ;-) Gotta go catch a plane! )
