Cringe - Re: "So why did Intel do a head fake on us with an October "release"?"

Head fake ?

What head fake ?

What's a head fake ?

In October, Intel began shipments of Coppermines to their customers.

Was that what you call a head fake ?

Two weeks later, NINE vendors on Pricewatch started advertsing Coppermines for sale.

Two 1/2 weeks after the launch, Gateway 700 MHz Coppermine PCs , Dell 700 MHz Coppermines and Hewlett Packard 733 MHz Coppermine PCs, Compaq 450 MHz coppermine notebooks and Sony 500 MHz Coppermine notebooks are readily available.

Maybe the fast appearance of these has your neck out of joint so you think it was some kind of head fake.

If you are a head case - which you undoubtedly are - I guess you have been faked.

More evidence of your neck being out of joint:

"The HP with the cumine 733 was actually in stock and on the shelf. Consistent with the newspaper ad, it contained SDRAM. I counted 11 boxes on the shelf above plus the display unit. I was not able to find anyone to help me, so I didn't ask about sales. The only other Cumine I noticed was a 667mhz box (I think it was a HP)."
