Hi Charles:

"AMD expects the 800MHz Athlon to be available on January 10 with all production coming from its Texas fab plant."

I wonder when currently figment Intel 750's and 800's will be available inthe retail channel?

Also I wonder if INTC is up $5.50 on figment pronouncements, just where will AMD be on real GTW and real 800MHz announcements....$38 anyone followed by $48.25 on 99Q1 earnings news by Jan. 21???

All you naysayers, please stay tooned!

Chuck,

While Intel is busy making vaporware announcements OEMS are building 800MHz Athlon systems. Here is the first mainstream Athlon 800 mini-review.

maximumpc.com;

Didn't somebody on this board mention that Intel decided to announce release of Coppermine 800 samples to OEMS before Athlon 800 results are published on the net? I took the liberty of PMing the link to your post to Yahoo AMD posters - they would have a ball with it :-)

Re: "*******Breaking News********"

More bologna. They only got a sample.

More bologna about benchmarks:

"The previous record on a single processor machine running [SysMark 98 on ] Windows 9X was 299. And that was a 750MHz Athlon with 256MB of system memory. The fastest an Intel box has hit is 280 with VC133 and a GeForce card."

Intel posts a score of 304 on their website. Proving once again that a 733MHz CuMine outperforms even a 750 MHz Athlon.

Chuck,

While I was at MaximumPC reading that article, I noticed the following posted on the discussion boards:

I Ordered My new P3 700 MHZ pc with the very sweet altec Lansing ADA880 speaker on November 29 and I got an estimate
of December 14. I thought that was pretty resonable time to wait for them to build and test a computer. So I waited and a day before it was going to ship, I went to check me order status and it was changed to the 21 of December. Then 2 days later I got a call and they said the new ship date is January 5 of 2000. I mean COME on people You should not have to wait that long. I want my pc now. This is a $3000 computer that I ordered here, I should get some kinda special treatment for this kinda cabage i had to shell out. I think I should be compensated here with like a free printer or an MP3 playe. The whole reason I choose dell is there awsome reputation and support not to mention their awsome products (I think the Case is cool Maximum PC) For this DELL needs to go to HELL I want my computer now or I need to be compensated.

So Intel will announce they are starting whatever on Monday about the Cumine 800 while even magazines and relatively small websites have gotten ahold of 800MHz Athlon samples.
