el paradisio,

< I can even name the potential buyer...DT.>

WCOM is one of the premier players in international telephony. DT is an international player wannabe! Under any scenario you can dream up, the only way that DT could acquire WCOM would be by a hostile takeover. And that is going to take VERY DEEP pockets. I am sure that you don't believe that because WCOM's stock price is down, that WCOM's management is going to roll over for a friendly takeover by anyone.

Lets not lose sight of the fact that WCOM is facing regulatory problems because they have performed too well in the international market and they are too powerful. The stock price is depressed because WCOM doesn't have wireless, and the uncertainty of the FON deal. Both of these problems are short term and very curable, one way or the other.

DT might be a an international player, some day, but they are along way from playing in WCOM's league. Remember, they couldn't even pull off the Quest-US West deal.
