Scumbria,

I wonder if there will be any changes to L2 bandwidth and latency.

Joe

Are you certain about the pipeline stages being poofed up? I'm pretty sure I know at least one of the microarchitectural changes (yeah, it seems AS is wrong), but I haven't solidly heard about the pipeline.

Ah. So you agree with Paul DeMone now? ;)

Scumbria,

<BTW: The P4 revelations from MPF make it sound less dumb than was originally advertised.>

Could you expand on that? What is the new stuff that you saw and how do you see the architectural impact?

Chuck

SCUMbria - re: "AMD didn't introduce any new processors at the Microprocessor Forum, didn't even mention the Mustang with its larger cache in one single word and only provided some basic facts about the dual processor platform based on the AMD 760 chipset which should make it to market in H1 2001.
There was no public demonstration of a running MP system as suggested by the AMD press release. Rather AMD showed a system with two Athlons (1.2 GHz, FSB266) and DDR-SDRAM behind closed doors on the 15th floor of Fairmont Hotel. However AMD's marketing manager Bob Mitton refused to show the inside of the system - probably some kind of raw assembled prototype"

Is this TRUE ?

Did AMD pawn off the 760 MP Dual AthWIper as a HOAX and the news media - except Heise - didn't even catch it?
