If you vote with your emotions instead of your intellect, vote Democratic. All the feel-good policies wreak havoc in reality, but you can say " At least we cared, and tried " .
If you still believe, in the face of all evidence, that socialism in any of its guises work, then by all means vote Democratic.
If you enjoy being played for a punk, by the Clintons, Gores, Kennedys, of the world, supported by the mush-headed Mercedes liberals out in LaLa land, vote Democratic. Clinton and Gore don't really believe in anything, other than getting themselves elected. Same goes for many Republican candidates as well, to be sure, but not to the depths of cynicism of this say-anything, promise=anything, go-with-the-latest-poll, stand-for-nothing, despicable creatures.
If you want more and more federal government in your life, meaning less control at the state and local level where things can actually get done, then vote Democratic. Nothing like a bloated bureaucracy of waste to send your dollars to.

**OT** "is a woman's right to choose more important than the unborn life?"

Not a question for the goverment to be involved in at least during the early stages of pregnancy. Let the woman decide what is best for herself after hopefully consulting with parents, clergy, the father, her doctor etc. Most Americans are pro-choice but in their private lives act pro-life most of the time. It's the best we can do right now Brian, unless in our desire to ban abortion we are willing to send poor women back to the illegal/unskilled solution while the rich fly off to Europe. I am old enough to remember those days and it was tragedy after tragedy. The best way to fight abortion is to make them more rare thru education and birth control. Both parties need to get away from the extremists in both camps. And keep in mind there is a huge difference between an abortion by the morning after pill on conception +1 and an abortion on conception +269 days.

Brian,

What you call stereotype, I think of as fact based hyperbole.

RE: "where did you get the idea Bush backs the idea of banning inter-racial dating?"

As I said, during the primaries and after his major loss to McCain, his first visit to the next primary state was to a school which banned inter-racial dating and he said nothing. Others had more guts and the negative publicity caused the school to publicly reverse the ban.

RE:"There are already hate crimes on the books, so this is really not even an issue."

This is an issue because the hate crimes currently on the books do NOT include sexual orientation. The Republicans are the ones working to keep it that way.

By the way, I am not ignorant, but I don't always present my ideas in the most effective way. I do better with investing because it is not affected by the emotional burden of a 20th Century lifetime.
