so does that mean you are a liberal republican?

Do you a link that shows the National Ranking of quality of education by state?

<<<Seriously, there is no question that any limit on voting time hits Democratic candidates much harder than Republicans.>>>

Gee, Mike, maybe the whole country should adapt what the UAW has in their contract. Election day is a day off from work. <g>

That doesn't correlate well with the demographic polling that Gallup had for educational levels voting by party. But then the income levels also correlate with educational level. It's somewhat of a conflict of interest for government employees to be voting for candidates.

Jebb some good ole boys

Never meanin no harm.. that's just a little bit more than the law would allow..lol

this is interesting..old news probably, I took the TV out for the kids..
"And the strange reports out of the Sunshine State did not stop there.
The Sun Sentinel in Broward County reported that four white
Florida Highway Patrol troopers in North Florida set up a safety
checkpoint about a mile from a Baptist church where voters in a
heavily black district cast their votes. The U.S. Justice Department
and the Florida attorney general's office were said to be
investigating the incident after a civil rights complaint was filed
alleging that the checkpoint was intended to intimidate
African-American voters."

To All, My foot in my mouse, again, and a mea culpa. Just a few weeks back I was making fun of the election in the Balkans. How long can it take to get results in this information age, I asked? It was like lecturing somebody about obeying traffic laws and suddenly see those flashing lights in my rearview mirror. <g> Sorry, Serbs, I was quick on the trigger and slow on the aim.

I guess we agree to disagree on some of these. But more importantly, are you still staying away from puts these days and hoping the christmas lies will let you re-load at higher prices ?

I am considering intc (closer to earnings) and I am getting veeerrry close to buying puts on the telecom equipment suppliers. They are going to get slaughtered if the debt downgrades continue in that industry. Anything you like these days ?

I have been looking at TGG as a way to play the eventual recovery of the Euro, do you like at these levels ?

thanks

I think we agree that given the underlying economic rot, unperceived by 99% of the populace, there are going to be some major readjustments, to use the polite term, rather soon.

In that case, it would be a terrific opportunity for Gore to step graciously aside and let Bush go down the tubes.

But woulc the DNC let him do this?

Next, if this doesn't get settled in a week or two, how long before the rest of the world concludes that the United States is not a great island of stability and starts to pull some money out?

I do not know, but I do know that I was convinced that something would come along that would pull all the toothpicks out of the structure they are holding up, and this could be it. Better than a nuclear satchell bomb in the Empire State Building ( a real possibility now).

So . . .look on the bright side. Merely a constitutional crisis.
