It must have really been a struggle for you to support a president that was in theory in favor of free trade.

I have a neighbor that is a strong union man....even though they outsmarted themselves right out of work. Seems their "brain trust" knew the company could not afford to be without their valuable services. The poor deluded fool seems to still believe this was correct years after the plant closed down. They simply priced themselves out of a job.

Another funny thing about him, he is all for high wages as long as he does not have to pay them. His theory is "it's coming out of some one else's pockets".....Thankfully this country is made up of better stuff than that.

One of the Great GOP Myths of this board is that the Republican Party somehow stands for the common working man. That is complete
hogwash. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Democrats do not represent the common working man who starts his own business.

This is probably the dividing line in how each party defines "individual".

In the last presidential election:

Big Business campaign spending: 95%

Organized labor campaign spending: 5%

Absolute poppycock!!

95%??? % of what?? So no individuals contributed. How about the dreaded RR pacs? Didn't they contribute? We heard enough demolib whining about it. This is obviously not reality. JLA

Democrats don't represent the working man any better than Republicans. Get real. The only feelings democrats have toward working people are that they are a source of taxation. Without taxes, the democrats can't dole out to the non-working, which is who they represent.knc

Care to break that down on a Dem/Rep basis? I'd venture to say that Dems get more money from Big Business than they do Labor...
