VS --- happened to recall another of my buddies who trades with IB ... has a futures account only ... no other trades made except for the emini .... dropped by his house while I was out and found him with the new Java dealie on one of his screens .... spent about 15 minutes "with both of us fiddling " ..... here is what I found .... 1- screen "sizes out" nicely ... works just like a reg windows now .. 2- seems to have a few more bells and whistles than old tws while being a little easier to adapt to .... 3- loading speed is better ... 4- following the moves up and down on the mini seemed more "bulky and less quick" ... BUT at first usage the old tws seemed horrible ... 5- as we were both verrrrrrrry careful NOT to open an order that we weren't sure how to get out of QUICKLY ... we skated around and about without sending an order in ... so, all in all ... from a quickie test drive aspect with the real thing ... this was NOT a demo ... it seemed to me to be a potential excellent choice for a platform from which I can scalp the emini ..... I could see NO disadvantages that lept up and bit me ... not to say I won't find a lot of them later but I was pleased with the performance .... at one point we both got to laughing hard when we tried to cancel out without sending it ....glad it was his account and not mine ..... LOL he said he had just loaded it up and was contemplating calling me to come over ....... hope that helps the thread some .....
