"IT IS TOO LATE FOR THE MAJOR OPERATORS IN EUROPE TO CHANGE TO A DIFFERENT NETWORK PROTOCOL." Then Dr. J. was lying when he said Qualcomm has been getting phone calls from carriers about switching.

<<Eric, as you know from the NOK thread I too am irate about IJ's comments. >>

Seems to me that he was just giving realistic guidance, so the numbers would still not be factored into earnings models where they shouldn't be.

Dunno, could be just me.

AL, AL and AL, what a market!

When ---Qs were crazy here a year ago, I really enjoyed A.L. Reagan's cool-headed posts. He was even said, quote "some people here even thinks me as GSMer".

AL sold Q about in perfect timing.

AL bought his shares back last week, and had a cheerleading day!

After one week, he's pissed. Or IRATED.

After so many years, he's qustioning reuters!

According to "laodeng", "sounds like" contracts signed. Where? Which post?

Here is from my latest post:
<According to Unicom's plan, the network will have service testing in October, subscriber sign up by year end, and broad service roll out early next year. Industry analysts thus estimate the bidding, purchasing, equipment installation will begin very quickly in March. The related policy on purchasing, partnership, and service pricing will come out pretty soon.>

Does "March" sounds like last month?

Even cool-minded A.L. Reagan is irated, A.G gota do something, now!

A.L., no hostility to you, I am just i-----!

A.L.,

You and Eric are free to feel irate...after all it's a free country. I'm interpreting things a little differently. I think that Dr J. has convinced himself that the GSM Cabal (equipment providers and handset mfrs -. not the service op guys) are dragging their feet bigtime. There's lots of ancillary evidence to support this. So what does he do? Sit on his hands while the royalties to come from W-CDMA in Europe and elsewhere continue to get pushed out further and further into the future. Hell No! You let the service operators know that you can provide them with a different flavor of 3G that can help solve their financial woes much sooner than the other guys can. Worst case it's puts a lot of pressure on the other guys to get off their arse and start moving... and.fast! Frankly I'm amazed at how close Nokia and the rest of the cabal have come to killing the golden goose that lays their eggs.

Eric is right about one thing....Dr J. has just launched a massive FUD campaign...IMO not because he wanted to but because he felt he had to. Of course the fact that the FUD is warranted will go a long way to achieving the desired end game.
