well then I've got the ULTIMATE bad dish for you : rice with pinapple and marshmallows and salad dressing ! they used to serve this in the school I had just been transferred to in the 7th grade in North Dakota - and I was convinced I had just landed in hell.

Ever had a mutton sausage? Makes canned cheese spreads seem like caviar...

Good morning !

Thanks for the early laugh !

You are discussing "food" between English and American choices ?

HO HO HO HO HO HO HO...

What are the worst American foods, in your opinion?

English "food" of course... (I will have you know that "English food" is an oxymoron --along the lines of "honest politicians")

HO HO HO HO HO HO....

(flame proof suit & helmet on)

Well, when I've visited I've tended to avoid the foods I could identify as likely to be poor. But I have a hunch that the multicoloured marshmallow-based breakfast 'foods' are probably exceptionally vile, especially when they involve small pieces of imitation chocolate.

Agreed on the vegetables, though - I nearly always steam them rather than boil. Thankfully, as I said to Taz, overboiled glop is now very much the exception rather than the rule.
My worst English food has to be instant mash, closely followed by tinned processed peas. I suspect many people would vote for 'Pot Noodles'... if you haven't encountered them, give thanks.

But what's wrong with tinned pineapple?
