Jamok,

Let's hope that Bush will lean heavily on the advice of the 'adults' in his administration, such as Colin Powell.
(Ok, I'm ready to be flamed ;-)

My impression is that the real players in foreign/defense policy are Cheyney and Rice, with some input from Bush and Rumsfeld, while Powel handles PR.

I worry that President 'dim bulb' Bush doesn't have the wattage upstairs to appreciate and negotiate the sublteties and commplexities of the situation, at least from his pronouncements so far which simplistically define this conflict as between 'pure good' (us), and 'pure evil' (them). Since I deplore Clinton's moral fiber, I never thought I'd long for his intelligence in these matters. Let's hope that Bush will lean heavily on the advice of the 'adults' in his administration, such as Colin Powell. (Ok, I'm ready to be flamed ;-)

Jamok, I think many of us worried but there is always the chance he will rise to the occasion.

Our President has exhibited a trait particularly useful in this situation; the ability to listen to the council of those smarter than he in their areas of expertise.

Here we go again... Go move to Canada or something. He has done a good job so far given the situation.

It's weird not being in the US while this happened. I thought I would check out this thread to see what people are writing about and I read the same crap people were saying last November.

At a time like this all you can do is jab at the President.

At least he was a fighter Pilot. Gore took notes while being kept out of harms way in Viet Nam.
