Patrick,

I have to say that I was a bit dissapointed when I saw the previews of nForce motherboards on Anand's site. None of them were MicroATX. If there is a chipset that calls for a MicroATX design, it is the nForce chipset. You have video, sound and Fast Ethernet onboard, so the need for additional cards is minimal.

I have an old MicroATX computer which I wanted to upgrade, and the best thing I found was the motherboard based on the integrated Sis chipset (730?), which at this point is a little bit outdated, given all the new motherboards now are DDR.

PT, regarding "luggable"&#133

What I'm looking for is actually a small system for the living room for looking up all sorts of stuff on the 'net. TV guides, program descriptions, encyclopedias etc. We have a lot of friendly arguments and frequently need to look stuff up.

With TV-out and a DVD-drive, I could use to play movies etc. TV-in would further extend my options.

Unfortunately, wireless access points are still prohibitively expensive here in Denmark, so I'll need to stick with cables for the time being.

I am looking forward to RF wireless keyboards and mice, though&#133

Patrick,

Mini-iTx sounds interesting to build a "luggable computer" (I am not quite interested in a notebook).

Speaking of luggable computer, I came across a website some time ago that had pictures of some exotic cases, and the one I liked was actually a suitcase with all the stuff (motherboard, floppies, fans etc) mounted inside. With a case / computer like that, I am sure he was a star at the LAN parties.

PT, The system looks capable, but a bit boxy, IMO.
I would prefer a system with a lower profile that was wider. More or less the same cubeage. One way would be to use an external switching supply of the black brick type. I wonder if they made it that way to use existing power supplies of a standard type to save $$. Compaq has some nice systems like that with the power built in.
They should also use inches as well as MM on the dimensions for those who are unaware of their 25MM=1" tables.
