Maybe the referee was watching the game with his head up his arse. Seems to me that many others here were doing the same.

Are you saying that a ref should base his call on what a player may have done in some other game many moons ago?

Was Totti fouled?
a) Yes

b) NO

Should Totti have been red flagged

a) Yes

b) NO

Does not happen in hockey...Real Men, Real Refs, just smack someone and head to the penalty box..for 2 min <ggg>, To be thrown out for the dive? In WC? Sure it is a disgrace

I just saw the Italy - Korea game on tape, the second half and extra time anyway. Looking at the Totti incident (sounds like a spy novel doesn't it?) it wasn't a foul but he didn't deserve a yellow card. As mentioned earlier the referee didn't seem to realize he'd have to send him off til he was reminded by the Koreans. It was bad luck that's all for the Italians, not a conspiracy - perhaps they're paying back Karma for their dives of the past!

The offside "goal" was probably onside but impossible to evaluate as the Koreans stopped playing when they saw the raised flag - we'll never know.

Overall the more adventurous, entertaining team went through.

It was kind of funny to see the Italian coach pounding on the glass at the FIFA officials. -g-
