"A time of abundance and freedom doesn't arrive by accident. They are created by people who are civilized, living in nations which do the creating. The nations won't be disappearing, but their inalienable right to wage war and terror on neighbouring nations will. But only if enough people have an imagination."
They are created by people who are civilized not the pretend type i see in your post. Believe what you will. I assume your reference to nations that "wage war and terror on neigbhoring nations" is a reference to Uncle Sam. Suppose al quaida was justified on 9/11 because to quote a line from west side story "they were depraved on accouna they were deprived? I really am beginning to sympathise with pat buchanan the more i read these posts from folks far away from the conflicts of our time with their arrogant and self praise. When the barbarians come to your door, deal with it my friend. Give em a big kiss for me. mike

Civilized people create abundance by being protected from power hungry dictators. This time of relative peace happened because we had people willing to die for the vision of a just civilization.

...if the barbarians beyond the pale aren't also enjoying a modicum of civilization, they tend to scale the walls and make a bit of a mess.

"Beyond the pale"? What "pale"? Who created it? Who's denying the barbarians their "modicum", as a result of which action "they tend to scale the walls and create a bit of a mess", like murder thousands of innocent people, destroy property, jobs? And, promise to come and cause more mayhem?

Is there something we have to do to keep those barbarian murdering bastards happy? What might that be? (sarcasm) Any specific suggestions?

Try to think how things can be, rather than how things are.

Hmmm...

Regards to the sheeple.
