Why then are all the nurses and the doctors always threatening to go out on strike in Canada?

Why is it then, that Canadians come to the United States for surgery?

This is a story a friend forwarded me from which he received from his Canadian friend. Comments?

Subject: Mom

Hi,

I spoke with my mom last night and she asked me to pop you an email to let you know why she hadn't been online. She told you about falling down and breaking her arm and going to the hospital and getting a cast put on it. Then she was in such continued pain that she went back to the hospital and discovered that her arm had not been reset. Quack medical care merely put a cast on it. When they xrayed it they found out it had never been reset.

So she is admitted to the hospital to have her arm reset... but in true Canadian health care fashion, as simple procedure as resetting her arm, has managed to keep her in the hospital for 2 nights! When I spoke with her last night (6pm her time) she still had not been taken down to the OR for the procedure. Basically, she was still hooked up to an IV, and sitting in the room doing nothing for over 24 hours. The only way she was able to get the hospital staff motivated was to tell them she was going to check herself out and go down to the United States to have the procedure done if they didn't do something right away.

Needless to say none of us are impressed right now. Anyway.. hopefully she will be home today. If not, as soon as I have any other information, I will let you know.

Cheers!
