Bob, is there a policy on the acronym ESAD (Eat Sh*t And Die) as a vulgarity and/or personal attack, especially when it comes up in a completely unsolicited message from another SI member?

Seems vulgar and offensive to me but I have seen it tolerated numerous times.

Clarification appreciated.

Could you then at least explain the arbitrary way that suspensions are meted out? I used to frequently report people for profane language towards me and others and nothing was ever done about it, so I naturally assumed that kind of posting was O.K. Now, suddenly(in the last few weeks), it seems that what was acceptable is now no longer acceptable. It seems that rules and punishment change at your (well, SI's anyway) whim with no notice of these changes.

RE:Specifically just saying that someone's a "pompous asshole".

IMO, he was, I couldn't think of better words to describe him, do you have some acceptable alternatives?

One of the problems with TOU is that they are rather vague and very unevenly enforced...and I have been suspended on various occasions for certain posts although I can point to dozens of similar posts of equal and often worse content by other posters who go unsuspended.....I understand Bald Eagle's frustration.....
