I agree. I kind of like the idea that it is impermissable to even write down the name of G__.

God is invoked so often, and for so many matters that should not invoke God's involvement. Before a high school football game, every time Barry Bonds hits a home run. This trend of athletes pointing to the sky everytime they do what they are paid for is disturbing.

The commercialization of God is approaching that of the U.S. flag.

Next time you are driving down a major road, count how many times you see the flag, and how many times the flag is flown by either: (1) a fast-food restaurant; or (2) a car dealership.

What the U.S. flag has come to signify is the presence of a quick (and very unhealthy) meal and the chance to buy a Battlewagon with no money down.

As many people "wrap themselves in the flag", many also use God to forclose any opposition to their position.

Bush's statement "you're either with us or your against us" wreaks of the same attitude.

Christianity has a long history of killing it's idealogical opponents, and then demonizing them as "heretical".

"So in the end is this a war for oil, land, hearts and minds of people or is it another religious war... "

All of the above, plus a little over zealous patriotism and ego on the side.

"AND what it does to me is turn me off from all religions. They have caused more problems in this world and when one thinks about outer space , the possibility of life on other planets and the totality of the Universe in which we are just a little blob.... I think it's laughable..

They say 'the love of money is the root of all evil'.

I'm still planning on using the stuff ... doing my best to stay out of love with it though.

"Someone said once that religion is the biggest joke played by God on humankind in that it is all a myth."

Probably an anti-religion zealot ... that ok with you?

The old adage: "don't blame the messenger".

In our case, we have to blame the messenger since he completely distorts the message.

The message of God/Christianity that I know is to love one another as He has loved you.

The messenger claims that the message is to spread democracy in Iraq even it means killing tens of thousand innocent people. If this is the true message, then his God is a false God, and he is a false prophet in the tune of Anti-Christ.

I am not turned off by my religion which gives us Jesus as our Saviour. By no means am I a religious fanatics.

I am turned off by the so-called messengers like Jimmy Swaggart who had sex with prostitutes, and then cried "I am so sorry" while gleefully watching the congregation dropping money in the offering basket. I am turned off by Jim Bakker who had a mistress named Jessica Hahn. I am turned off by cult leader Jim Jones and the Kool-Aid drink. I am turned off by Oral Roberts who claimed that God would take his life if he did not raise enough money.

Abraham Lincoln: "You can fool some of the people all the time (people like L-S) and you can fool all the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

The truth has started coming out, and yes thank the true God for letting it happen. One presidential debate in the books, two more to go.
