"most of those books would be filled with gibberish."

I take it that you are using "gibberish" to equal extraneous or meaningless information. Is it "gibberish" because of our inability to understand it? Chinese looks like "gibberish" to me because I don't speak the language. I suspect that is the case with Human DNA as well. If it truly were meaningless then taking it all out should have no effect. Can you substantiate that that would be the case?

"The entire population of humans was reduced to about 10,000 or less at a time about 100,000 years ago."

It was down to eight at one point :)

"could DNA tell us the truth about Adam and Eve?"

bbc.co.uk

Their dates seem to be extrapolated from questionable presuppositions but the idea that we are the offspring of a single pair of humans fits perfectly with the testimony of Scripture that Adam and Eve were the original Humans and that they were Created by God!

Hello thread. TP and Solon, and is that you, THE Greg (what was that old screen name? Still throwing pots?) : Been a long time, eh? I was getting burned out on a dying thread and thought I'd go stalk people who use to post interesting stuff. This thread popped up, believe it or not. Like a diner where everybody knows your name, wait, that was a bar...

I typed in a random post and came up with this one.

And this one. What a hoot! The other choices were equally choice...

I wanted to comment on DNA. I have an interesting but yet-unproven-theory for "junk DNA" that is clearly communicated though a Gedanken Experiment. Imagine yourself in a room with a bunch of tuned objects of all sorts of odd sizes as far as the eye can see. Imagine that each shape can be rung with dampen and decay controlled by a central console at which reside a 10,000 Beethovens! Hear them ring. Well, this is what I imagine junk DNA to be. It's like an orchestra with music waiting to be conducted by you or me (our 10,000 codlings). And I don't think the other part of it is junk at all. That's where music and art comes from: resonance with some piece of "junk"! It's where invention and discovery comes from. Each small charged part of the DNA tuned rods is intimately connected to and resonating with a neuron in YOUR brain. You are the chord in the Key of U#, metaphorically speaking of course.
