"Projecting, are we?

I asked GST the following, several days ago... he disappeared. kholt answered it in a positive way from an anti-war perspective but GST is using his own style of dealing with the question.

"Answer a direct question for me within this context. That might help to clear some of the confusion here.

A young man enters the military because he wants to commit himself to the effort and American agenda in Iraq, he is prepared to stand up to the Al-Zaraqawi insurgents and make the ultimate sacrifice if need be.

What do you mean by 'we support the troops but not the war' with specific reference to this young man?

You hope that he succeeds, or not? In what way are you supporting this troop?"

btw ...I accepted kholts explanation as valid for a positive interpretation of the bumpersticker 'we support the troops but not the war.'

<Show me were anyone here suggested a desire to go to war was a major reason people join the military. People enlist for many reasons - some economic, some patriotic, some for travel and adventure, some for the personal challenge. What is your point?>

You might look here - the source of the point:

<The majority of the troops who signed up to enter the military over the past couple of years have done so specifically because they wanted to directly participate or support the military in the operations related to Iraq that promote the agenda of America in Iraq.>
