re: What I find interesting is that Bush has avoided every opportunity to pledge his support for Rove, but the spinmeisters are out in force. Now this is puzzling because it is Fitzgerald who has the say here, not the talking heads. So it looks to me as if Rove is being given the opportunity to build support. If he does, then Bush can move to pressure people to get the investigation quashed somehow. If he can't, then out comes the axe... I don't think Bush has a chance in hell of closing down a grand jury investigation... it's gone way too far. Yes Rove and the boys are floating different defenses to see if any stick... so far I don't think they have. And as you say it's all up to Fitzgerald, and what the facts are. Rove is in the awkward spot of having to defend himself before the accusations are clear, thus the silence from the WH and the talking points going to party loyals. Fitzgerald is the wild card. He is supposed to be one real competent straight shooter. I can't imagine this thing going on for 2 years without anything of criminal substance, reporters going to jail and all; this guy would have shit canned it. He's a pro. I think there must be something there, maybe much more than we know, and if Fitzgerald comes out shooting at THIS administration, I'm sure he knows that he has to have all his duck lined up absolutely perfectly. They are sure to attack him personally and professionally if they find ANY opening. It will be interesting to see what comes out, and how they respond. John

Only the minority party in Washington has Rove in their sites because they have failed to bring down Bush's daughters, Cheney's daughter, Bush's wife, Cheney, Bush, DeLay, Ashcroft, Gonzales, and America itself... Nothing is more important to the democrat party than the next election. That's why the democrats have lost at the ballot box and will continue to lose. American voters are not stupid. The dems only have to look in the mirror.....
