"Think of how repressive some of those regimes are"

What business is this of America? Whats so great about American culture that they think it must be imposed on people still in the Stone Age? Anyway this stuff never works as BushChimp and CheneySatan are finding out.

Did Iraq invade the USA during their civil war which was very bloody and a step in the evolution of America? Ah c'mon why didn't Iraq come over to protect our black people from the barbarism of slavery? Surely black women were abused no? Can you answer that?

It was the greatest war in American history.
3 million fought - 600,000 died.

What was the official name for the war?
The War Between the States
The War of Northern Agression
The Civil War
The War of the Rebellion
The War of Secession
The War to End All Wars

Al I really enjoy travelling down into Washington State-Spokane, Colville etc. The people are incredibly friendly couteous, andhelpful. However, they are completely oblivious to what their gov't is doing around the world. They actually believe that the U.S.A is being attacked globally out of envy. Its not only their armies that cause grief, its their sponsorship of the World Bank ,I.M.F.unscrupluos dictators and other self serving interests. The rest of the world wasn't put in place to be subsurviant to America. Thats just my take.

Kastel, this thread has been an interesting read this weekend. Many of the posters sitting in comfortable rooms with expensive computers and all the advantages, tapping out their thoughts.

Some pouring out vitriol against the US government, yet lapping up the benefits from everything from, the protection of North America by US military, the great leaps in science for the benefit of all, from the US space program. The tremendous advances in everyday living brought about by colossus American Companies like GE,Microsoft,Boeing, Apple... the ever changing Dow 30 for that matter.

Look at "the cradle of civilization" and ask yourself "what have they done lately??Name the companies and the leaders that have advanced society...I think they come up short by comparison..what about the X leaders of these countries and do any of them compare to what all of the recent x US presidents have accomplished??

Sometimes the pounding of American Government and its people is way overdone..as Mau W on another threads says ...Why are people the world over trying to get in?? and those in, are free to leave.
This theme is not new, and Gordon Sinclair a Canadian made me think about this years ago..here it is ...AGAIN<g>
