It's also not a question of how much bitumen is in situ, but their ability to extract it economically in a timely fashion. There's no question that they have lots of reserves up there. The oil sands are overflowing with it. If it was a conventional reserve, I'd be calling for a reserve analysis. They had bigger fish to fry there (i.e. proving up THAI). Perhaps some conservatives on the patch would say this effort is a waste of capital, that they should focus on SAGD and proving up the reserves. IMO, that's not how revolutions are started.

"Show me where the problem with my opinion is, other than with your fantasies." ***** THAI has been online since last July and is producing much higher volumes of liquid, now with greater than 50% oil cut, than computer modeling suggested. Three well pairs are on line, with three more to be drilled this year. There is verified evidence of significant insitu upgrading of API. NG use is virtually nil. Greenhouse gas production is half SAGD. Industrial grade water is a byproduct of the process. Please tell me which of the above are unverified fantasies? T1
