For those who think the problem we have wasn't caused by both parties:

I know, I know. Evil Bush-Cheney tricked those democrats into defending the GSE's.

In 2004, who controlled Congress? Republicans. If the GOPers wanted more regulation of FNM and FRE, why didn't they pass the appropriate legislation?

Little Joe, most of the people I know would LOVE to be back in, oh 1997 right now. Or any year in the 90s. There is no comparison between the nation then and now, and the massive damage that has been done.

I find most of the people who say things like "they're all corrupt" are usually making excuses for Bush and republicans.

No doubt it's both parties... I remember ALL the presidential candidates touting "home ownership" as this yardstick for success as well as the parties as a whole. Democrats were intrumental in setting up FNM and FRE.

Little Joe, the Republican's have had near control of congress for 30 years and from 2000 to 2006 strongly controlled both houses of congress and the presidency.

They could have done anything they wanted. Why didn't they fix it if it was such a problem? During those six years what good did the Republicans acheive?

For 6 years Bush did not veto even one bill the Republican congress sent to him. The reason was that they had a deal.

If congress did not mess with the president (e.g. oversight) he would not mess with them.

That you cannot see the difference between the Republican's and Dems or MCCain and Obama is startling to me.

There is a huge difference and if you have any real interest in seeing reality, you should work on it.
