But his speech is quite clear.

I agree on that point 100%. His words were precise and clear, and not what the YouTube headline claimed.

I do think it was a gratuitous point to make since every road crew I see in the US is mostly Hispanic, perhaps with older white supervisors.

Regardless, the blatant distortion of Reich's words so some talk jocks could howl and scream is utterly transparent. We have plenty to discuss and debate without people introducing complete lies.

Suppose someone got on a soapbox and claimed the Republicans wanted nothing but tax cuts, when they just want more tax cuts as a proportion of the total package? Wouldn't that be focusing on what they "really mean" after all?

Lies are BS, pure and simple, wherever they come from.

>>Perhaps if this stimulus bill was more about creating jobs and less about creating long term welfare dependence then it would be better received by the public.<<

Quehubo -

It IS more about creating jobs and it IS being well received by the public, by and large. The minority of the public who are being misinformed about the bill and its intentions by the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity are, naturally, not as happy about it.
