I agree with your sentiment about being over zealous and singled minded about a stock. I have learned a valuable lesson this year about irrational exuberance as it relates to a stock. If you really want to make money in the market, find a thread that is irrational to any negative comments(Swiss deals comes to mind)and a stock that has a major impact date coming up and posters are exuberant about the stock, then short the heck out of that baby. For example just look at the following threads: DEPO(Total Disaster)RADAF(Drops nearly 4 points on positive earnings) CYMI(50% drop when posters were projecting the sky) GUMM(They really got chewed up) LGND(Signed biggest deal in history of company and stock drops 30%)What can you say about JMAR that isn't reflected in the stock price.ZOLT( Really took a jolt in share price)
This list could go on and on. What is unique about each of these stocks is that the threaders wouldn't entertain any negative comments.

RSC, I was responding to a note posted by Tim, and if you look at the reference with Hitachi, you will see that Harry Shields is listed along with the article. (Reposted below) You are taking this out of context. I will stop posting altogether if everyone feels that my input is unwanted here. I do this to help get out the information. Your comments are the same typical ones that I got in 1994 when I bought JMAR at .59 per share. I guess I was wrong to be optimistic then too?

(This is the note that I was posting to).

Harry Shields, JMAR Technology Co. Excimer ablation lithography (EAL) for TFT-LCD (Invited Paper), K. Suzuki, M. Matsuda, T. Ogino, N. Hayashi, T. Terabayashi, K. Amemiya, Hitachi, Ltd. (Japan) [2992-16] <---Gee RSC, I guess JMAR was not involved? Get real.

Why don't you take over RSC. You call the company, you do the research and inform this conference of current information. I am going to take a month off from posting here, since you are going to take over...

RSC, contrary to your note, flat panel displays were mentioned at the Red Chip Review conference. You cannot state that JMAR has no involvement with Hitachi. As I said before, someone needs to call the company and find out if there is any relation there. Read reference note below:

I have a different view of Bilberry's post. I didn't see any starry-eyed optimism or outlandish predictions of stock appreciation.

I hadn't heard about Harry Shields before and Bilberry's post was informative.

We all need to pitch in and bring to light all potential information (negative as well as positive). I remember people posting ridiculous predictions "JMAR will be $20 by the end of the month" and other such garbage. Those types of hype and hysteria need to be avoided.

Bilberry has never intentionally misinformed others. In fact, his posts are usually along the lines of "I found this and that, please somebody else look into this and confirm or deny this new information that I have uncovered".

>>>>>neither Harry Shields nor JMAR have anything to do with the
Hitachi research into Excimer ablation lithography (EAL) for TFT-LCD. He is the editor of the journal for which you give the URL, not an author on that article.<<<<

The EDITOR of the ABSTRACT was Harry Shields, JMAR Technology, as
copied below.

>>>Editor(s): Harry Shields, JMAR Technology Co., San Diego, CA, USA; Peter E. Dyer, Univ. of Hull, Hull, United Kingdom.

All papers are published by SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering, P.O. Box 10, Bellingham, Washington, 98227-0010, USA.>>>

The papers are published by SPIE. Harry Shields is NOT an employee of SPIE, therefore he isn't an Editor for SPIE. He edited the article that SPIE published. In my opinion, this use of "editor" implies that he was the "author". Also, JMAR Technology would not be listed after his name if he were a SPIE "employee". This clearly refers to his being a JMAR employee.

As for any relationship between JMAR and Hitachi -- that is something that bears looking into.

>>>>starry-eyed optimism supported by misinformation turns me off.<<<

So what have you contributed here in the way of solid information? As for "misinformation", I believe you've just misinformed everyone by stating what you believe to be Harry Shield's involvement in the above stated situation.

Yes - we've had a little "irrational exuberance" from time to time here, but people like Bilberry, Tim, Michael R., Candlestick and others, have been conscientious in trying to keep us all informed about what is going on/and-or related to JMAR. Rather than gripe because the stock is down, let's try to determine what are legitimate concerns. I feel that most of what we're seeing in the stock price drop now (other than the Swiss shorting) is not so much related to JMAR as other market conditions.

I think we have a couple of "false prophets" on this list. Let's see who speaks up first to say there aren't!
