norm: Thanks. You may be right. I do not doubt the figures but they leave out Japan and South Korea and cover the entire year. Would be more interesting to see where last quarter's data fit into the scheme. Looks like the 30-40 percent growth covers only approximately 20 percent ($200M)of the company's annual revenues worldwide. Unless I am reading things incorrectly, the statements by Adaptec's regional sales manager (salesmen do like to talk things up) for Asia Pacific may be his attempt to brighten the picture. Seems unlikely to have much effect on stock price, unless investors don't get past the title of the article: "Adaptec sees growth in Asia outside Japan."

Now we wait for the full story: tomorrow after market close.

Welcome to the club.

Norm,
What about the dollar? Unless all sales are made in dollars the currencies in many of these countries have collapsed against the dollar. Prices for articles in Indonesia are about 70% higher due to currency translations. Thanks in advance if you have any ideas.

I certainly did not find that article encouraging. Which would you rather see tank -- Asian sales or U.S. sales?

JMHO.
