You could visit Syria and Turkey and come home in one piece. Don't even get me started about the rest of the Middle East. Education levels there have gone up along with the capacity for violence in most emerging nations. You think it was more or less dangerous in Mexico 100 years ago? And the education level? All up.

Can you not see how much kinder we are today than even 100 years ago and certainly 200 years ago when slavery was common place? That's debatable - between 80-100 million people were killed in wars last century, we now can end all human life on earth with nuclear winter & technological advances are continually re-purposed into controlling or killing human beings. We develop biological weapons that could kill millions. All in all, not very nice.
