Hi S, Always great to read your thoughts on things :). I would not necessary tie ADSL and Ip tele to tightly. IP Tele can proceed without the bandwidth of ADSL. However, it does seem quite interesting given the leaders in the market :)

Cheers,

Tom

<<...and on the other hand we have a Major Western European Operator announcing the
launch of adsl/ip telephony the afternoon ahead of the show...

Do we have a match???

we have ip telephony provided by vocaltec, a relatively small israeli co (no surprise
there)...but no adsl supplier announced... could it be another israeli co currently trialing
with dt?

... looks promising... makes sense...

(but then again it could be alcatel.. or maybe someone else)

in any case, it sounds like we may know tomorrow.. , but then again maybe not... but it
sure would be nice to see orctf and dt doing a demo together...>>

Hi s.,

The ADSL OVER ISDN from ORCTF hopefully attracted DT.

[Good Fit]

This piece jumped out at me:

Telekom is the world leader in deployment of ISDN, which can transport up to 64,000
bytes per second in one channel and can combine channels to increase bandwidth.

In Germany, there are over 7.6 million ISDN channels installed and widely used in
business and at home.

Also, somewhere in my memory banks, I vaguely remember DT trialing ORCTF VDSL products as well. I will look for the article.
