Reply to #1279 Bull/Bear Poll

We all due respect, We do not determine the price of stocks, Institutional trader do, When they buy 100,000 or 200,000 shares of any stock, they will bring the price of a stock up or down. When we buy 1000-2000 shares that effect is minimal. Having said that , This does not mean they are smarter than we are, they simply play with much bigger money. We just have to be one step ahead of this big boy of wall street. One of these days, they will start buying ADPT, and we all benefit. Good luck to all.

After watching this thread for a couple weeks and reading back through the bloodbath, I'm in.

If the disagreement is whether to expect 18 or 22 as the bottom I'll buy again in the next week or so either nearer the bottom or happily higher.

I am not a techie but reviewing the balance sheet and the sec filings it sounds like a pretty sound group running the show. I like a company that takes minor write offs. There is always something to write off and management that doesn't wait for the crushing weight of unavoidability to swallow hard and put bad news behind them gets a vote from me.

Another factor is the legal aspect. In the class action suits I have been involved in (in the courtroom, not at the end of a mailing list)
the attorneys tend to slither in near the bottom of the business cycle. So much better for proving damages. (someday someone should do a study of class action suits as a leading indicator)

Although the principal of class action suits is meritorious, I tend to like to buy around these loathesome creatures. Having been deposed a few times in CL Act suits I would like to see guilty punished and the attorneys of frivolous actions ordered to donate an organ each. Based on the number of lawyers in the rooms I've been in, there would be a donor glut quickly develop. - (heart donations excepted)

The purchase of Symbios looks reasonable particularly since it was bought from a seller under duress.

My inclination tells me that both the S&P downgrade and window dressing by funds are reasons that keep major buyers out of the market temporarily.

Thanks for the entertaining thread.

So put me in at 19 since I know I'm not smart enough to buy at the bottom. Now I have to decide whether I want my next buy to be at 19 or 25.

About your Poll...

Having just bought some, I'll go with the "Hohenner" factor and shoot
for 20.75. My short term guessing is just that - I tend to do much better on the long term stuff, and not picking the bottom too carefully lest I miss the opp. completely.

Sincerely,

Hans Hohenner

Regarding the survey, why not expand the survey
to sample the predicted price ranges at several
points in the future?

Hi/Low 30 days
Hi/Low 90 days
Hi/Low 180 days
Hi/Low 360 days

Yes?

*** The ADPT Bull/Bear Poll - UPDATE ***

Headline - The poll has had its first casualty !

Comments.

The survey is NOT a real competition - The intention is simply to
increase our discussions/understanding, and hopefully have some fun !

The survey is only of value to long term investors - traders are
unlikely to find much of value here.

Target numbers will be judged against the daily closing price.

See the following link for details of how this arose -

Current state of poll.

The current status of the poll can be crudely summarised as follows -

1) Almost everyone is bearish, with the belief that ADPT will likely
go lower in the short term.
2) Opinion on the low point is divided over whether a further
catalyst will emerge to further drive things down (e.g. mutual fund
selling, bad company news, market adjustment, etc.,).
3) In the group that believes such a catalyst will not arise, the
average view is that the price will go no lower than $20.
4) In the group that believes there will be such a catalyst, the
average view that the price could fall to around $17.50.

The lowest ADPT might go in the next few months is -

Jimmy - $22 :) Message 3776586
