You know Janice, I am becoming more and more convinced that Starr has done an excellent job of protecting his case. I see no problem with them checking the book purchase records. Nobody was complaining when Timothy McVeigh's reading material was scrutinized and made public.

It could be something as simple as gathering corroborating evidence. Let's say she tells Linda Tripp on the tape she used a particular book as a, um, guidebook, for her boinking of the Prez. If she ever gets to the point of sworn testimony, it would just be more evidence to supplant the case, if she denies her taped conversation. She's obvious got diarrhea of the mouth, so she's probably given lot's of avenues of exploration for the Starr team.

Janice-
I have no problem with Starr's subpoena of the books. First of all, nobody really knows why he did this since it is "secret". Second, Monica gave Clinton some books (subposedly) and he might need a record of what she bought if she denies having these titles. Third, each subpoena is reviewed by the judge who would have denied it if necessary, and fourth, Starr has his own ethicist, Sam Dash, who was the majority counsel for the Democrats during Watergate.

>>Who the hell does Starr think he is? Joseph Goebbels?

Of course not, Goebbels is under exclusive retainer by the Clintonistas!

Remember the same Dems that are screaming about this valid evidence collection in a criminal inquiry found it perfectly appropriate to get and to defend getting lists of Judge Bork's and Clarence Thomas's video rentals!

The books Monica apparently bought related to phone sex, one of her specialties as detailed on Tripp's tapes.

The Clintonistas' hypocrisy is endless.

Now Janice, lets not rush to judgment. Mr Starr may have had a good and legitimate reasons to do this. I think we should all take a deep breath and wait until all the facts are out.

You must not be swayed by the anti-Starr media feeding frenzy.
