Pat,

$5B by 2002 comes to average annual revenue increase of 30% (assuming $1.6B in 1998). Is this figure expected or did it wow the analysts? Having been there, how do you rate the conf call overall? Were the analysts satisfied?

PL or P+L Profit and Loss

Sounds like they asked if the P+L would be broken out by product line. Not a bad question, but I can guarantee a shuffle like this is going to make a few internal NN accountants cringe.

Trying to decipher your notes. Might not necessarily be correct.

Thanks for the detail. What did you mean by For anyone who followed the call, I don't have to say Alan's closing was the highlight. FWIW, I have decided to increase my position.

Pat: I am sure others will like to join me in thanking you for your generosity , diligence and commitment to capturing the cc and then transcribing it for all to see. We truly appreciate that effort.

The cc had little impact on the days trading. Perhaps this was due to the general sell off in the market, the late timing of the cc and the need for the Main Brokerage houses to make any revisions only after their preferred Customers have been fully notified.

I certainly am encouraged that NN has set out a revenue target and the levels of responsibility. These objectives must now be detailed . We will need to wait till end Aug to see the breakdown.

I am still concerned with the Operating Margin and Net Margin. The reason I bring this up is that with time, margins are known to erode. CPQ is an apt descriptor of the problem I envisage. The Company may certainly be able to meet revenue growth targets but to get matching net margins could be open to question. This is an important issue since PEG ratios are tied to earnings and not revenues.

It is ironic that official periods of silence are also the times when Investors are most vociferous about their expectations. I hope that the coming weeks will prove rewarding to all our Board members.

Thanks once again.

Pat, thanks for the summary. Very much appreciated.

The Yahoo board had the following post this evening:

"4:58 Headline News:

Newbridge said it would not be providing guidance about quarter earnings...

There had been speculation that the company was going to pre-announce.

I'm not quoting exactly here from the wire (DOW JONES) but this is pretty much what it said!"

I guess we can read anything into that.

Cheers

Normand
