Check out Priority Broker's Web page - I believe they are one of the few discount brokers in Canada that let you short U.S stocks

Best Regards

James, I believe that regulations do not permit Canadian brokerage houses to open accounts with non-Canadians.

However, try this link for one of the well known Canadian discount brokerages:

Thanks Keith, Al for responding. I plan to call E*Trade-Canada today and see if I can open up an account in Canada. I am interested in the rules for shorting stocks. Checking out if they are better for us traders than US rules. With these hi flying internet stocks, it opens up shorting opportunity. I'll post my findings.

Happy Trading!!

Jim

Why? Open a U.S account to trade U.S stocks. It is much cheaper and faster, which will save you big time in the long run. If you must open a cdn. account, Keith is right, priority is probably the best bet.
