I am starting to scan for "next day" patterns after a day like this; it's early in the search and I only have it down to 27 examples at this point but most of them have wild moves. Two of them ran up a bit then sold off more than 100 Dow points, three of them backed off only a little bit then rocketed to as high as plus 189.

I guess the other 22 were just wild moves in the trading range? Is that correct?

Best WIshes,

Bob

Looking for patterns relating to a day like yesterday may prove to be a futile exercise as far as its predictive value -- but who knows.

I was actually floored by what occurred yesterday -- enough to be off keel for a bit -- and that does not happen to me often. I guess the bizarre close Friday close should have been a forewarning of sorts.

The draw-down that I took yesterday was rather heavy -- and the only saving grace was the fact that I was short the bonds and long the yen which helped quite a bit.

I may look to re-enter on the long side if it pulls-back sufficiently and is acting right.
